The monsoon has brought respite from the extreme heatwave in the country. The heavy rainfall in parts of India has, however, affected the lives of people, with many regions reeling under flood, including Mumbai and Assam, among several others. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rain showers for the coming weeks. Let's take a look at the state-wise forecast:

North India Weather Update: According to the IMD predictions, Delhi-NCR will witness light rain and sporadic thunderstorms. The sky will be normally cloudy, with rain intensifying on July 11. The maximum temperature is also likely to settle between 35.5 and 36.6 degrees Celsius.

Western India Weather Update: The southwest monsoon continued to bring rain in many areas of Rajasthan on Monday, with Bandikui and Bhusawar recording the highest rainfall during a 24-hour period. The Met office in Jaipur said light to moderate rain was recorded at some places.

The western half of Rajasthan is likely to remain generally dry and hot, while the eastern regions, including Jaipur, may experience occasional thunderstorms. The temperature in western Rajasthan will remain between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, while in eastern regions, the temperature is likely to settle between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Central India Weather Update: Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which lie in Central India, will receive regular rain showers for the next two weeks. With the pleasant weather, the temperature is likely to settle at 30 degrees Celsius in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Gujarat and Maharashtra Weather Update: Gujarat will see varied weather, with coastal areas receiving heavy rain and interior regions staying mostly dry. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, forecasting moderate to heavy showers with strong surface winds, gusting to 40 to 50 km per hour, likely at many places in North and South Goa districts.

Eastern India Weather Update: West Bengal and Odisha may see significant monsoon rains, particularly in Kolkata and coastal districts. Bihar will also experience heavy rainfall, which could cause flooding in several areas.

Southern India Weather Update: Kerala, Goa, and coastal Karnataka will have light to moderate rainfall, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will see scattered rainfall. IMD has predicted isolated to scattered rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal in the next five days.

Northeast India Weather Update: IMD has predicted fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, and Northeast India; scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha during the next five days. Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya from July 8–12, Jharkhand on July 12, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from July 8–11.
