The Egyptian has been in the headlines since his touchline spat with manager Jurgen Klopp during the 2-2 draw at West Ham United.

The 31-year-old was apparently furious with Klopp for dropping him to the bench for the second time in a week and expressed his anger before he was substituted on at the London Stadium.

The recent incident has fueled speculations that Salah could end up leaving Anfield in the summer transfer window

amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Liverpool have made it clear that they expect their star forward to stay, but Graeme Souness believes otherwise.

Speaking on William Hill’s Three Up Front podcast, he claimed Salah is the ‘most selfish player’ he has ever seen.

‘I believe Mohamed Salah is off and leaving Liverpool. He has been fabulous for Liverpool, but if he leaves to the Saudi Pro League then he’ll be the biggest star in that part of the world,’ Souness told Simon Jordan and Troy Deeney on the podcast.

‘He no doubt has an exceptionally large opinion of himself, and he’ll have been angry at not starting the game against West Ham last week.

‘I think the situation with Jurgen Klopp was a reaction to only being brought on with 10 minutes to go – it was more Salah than it was Klopp in that confrontation.

‘Salah is the most selfish player I have ever witnessed. Even prior to that game, whenever Klopp takes him off, he is never happy about it.’

Graeme Souness’ astonishing comments about Salah are very harsh as he has been one of the key players for Liverpool

over the years.

The Egypt international has consistently delivered excellent performances for his side and helped them win the Premier League and Champions League trophies.

Even this season, he has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 29 league appearances.

Clashing with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline was very bad but he certainly doesn’t deserve to be labelled a ‘selfish player’ for that.

The forward has done so much for the Reds’ successes in the past and he should be given a lot of respect.
