The Nigeria Navy Ship jubilee has intercepted and an illegal vessel along the Akwa Ibom state Water ways.

The State commandant, Commodore Martins Fakrogha revealed this while interacting with journalists in Uyo.

Commodore Fakrohga confirmed that the alleged illegal vessel was intercepted following an intelligence tip

He stated that the vessel though not carrying any product, was without relevant safety facilities and legal documentations and so constituted a threat to maritime safety and the nation at large.

According to the commandant, the intercepted vessel is currently at the command’s jetty, while its arrested crew members are in the command’s custody to be handed over to appropriate security agency.

The command further assured of its unrelenting effort to rid the nation’s waterways of criminality and crude oil theft and ensure safety of citizens.
