A business executive, Chief Chukwuka Okonkwo says the election of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the Vice Chairman of the Southern Governor’s Forum is a step in the right direction.

Chief Okonkwo who was speaking to the ABS in Awka, said that he is not surprised over the choice of Governor Soludo as the Vice Chairman of the forum, because of the Governor’s sterling performances in office.

He pointed out that Professor Soludo will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the administration of the Southern Governor’s Forum to ensure that the Governor’s re-strategize to build a strong and viable economic block for the betterment of their citizens.

Chief Okonkwo who is an architect and an All-Progressives Grand Alliance stakeholder in Aguluezechukwu Aguata Local Government Area noted that the new position of the Anambra Governor will also play a significant role in ensuring that the State plays national politics in all frontiers.

The APGA stakeholder expressed optimism that Governor Soludo will use his wealth of knowledge as a former Central Bank of Nigeria governor to advise the forum on the best regional economic policies and programmes to initiate and adopt to ensure economic prosperity and food security.

According to the business executive, the Southern Governor’s Forum must look into the various challenges facing the region like flooding, insecurity, hunger and poverty, lack of power supply and cross-fertilize ideas on how to tackle the challenges.

He called on Ndi Anambra to continue to support the current APGA government in the state for a livable, secure and prosperous homeland.
