Obafemi-Owode Local Government Chairman, Ogunsola Commissions Motorized Borehole, Electrification Projects

.....PROMISES ZERO TOLERANCE TO CHOLERA OUTBRAKE IN OBAFEMI OWODE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.


Provisions of good and portable water is the key to curb menace of any water burn out brake, the Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA made this statement while commissioning motorized boreholes in Mabon, Gbalesun, Fodoko villages of the council area, as part of the directive of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State to tackle the out brake of Cholera disease in the state.

The council boss who also commissioned newly installed and energized electricity transformers at Owojo village, that has been in total blackout for the past 17 years.


He said the borehole projects was the desire of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who insisted that the people living in rural areas of the state should be provided with quality source of water, as cholera is ravaging the lives of people due to consumption of poor water.

"Let me say here today, that these projects was part of our promises during electioneering campaign. Most importantly, our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON has keen interest in provision of portable water for our people living in the villages, as it is observed that having good water is a big challenge at the rural areas" said council boss.

He later visited Ogunmakin town, where an Electricity transformer nearing installation and energization for commissioning soon.

His Royal Highness, Oba Taofeek Kayode Owolabi, Olu of Obafemi stressed that all villages under his domain have enjoyed impact of government, while receiving the council chairman in his palace, particularly on the provision of portable water since inception of his administration in Obafemi Owode local government.

Commending the government, Chief Alabi Akinmuyiwa, Baale of Mabon Village who is over 95 years of age said since he was a child, they only rely on stream water, which is not  hygienic but full of praises that motorized borehole became a reality during his life time in Mabon village and it is going to be of benefits to other neighboring communities.

In the same vein, Mr Wasiu Owolabi one of the community leaders in  Gbalesun Village explained the importance of the motorized borehole brought to thier village as a big relief as it is,first of its kind. He therefore appreciates the government for prioritizing their needs while appealing to the people of the village to protect and maintain the borehole in order to serve them for long.

Similarly, Mr. Folarin Samuel, Community Leader, Fodoko village  expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done while thanking the government for coming to their aid in providing portable water for his community, while he pleaded for provision of electricity, as they also believe in government might.
