Girona coach Michel insists Barcelona are favourites in tomorrow night's derby.

The Catalan rivals meet in a battle for second place.

Michel said: "Barça is too much a favourite in this match. We will have to play a great game and be able to minimise its potential as much as possible, which is very great.

"They have the ability to win the ball and make the opponent stay on defense for a long time, they are the team with the most possession in the League and the one that makes the most passes, with Real Madrid, in three quarters of the field. They are comfortable with the ball, even if the opponent is close.

"And it is also very good in transition, it is second, after Madrid, in driving the ball. It is a very difficult game, but we are playing at home, with our people and our dynamics are very good.

"We want to play a great game for our fans and we are sure that with them we will give 200%, which is the only way to win. There is no key point, it is to have a very strong mentality in defense and attack because at times we will not have the ball and when we have it we have to be able to do damage face to face.

"We have to be able to not give passes that are not intended to cause harm, passing for the sake of passing is a lying way of playing."

On second position and the fight to be the best Catalan team: “It is not a goal. We want to win tomorrow to be, mathematically, a Champions League place for ourselves, not because we are the first Catalan team. Our fans will be happy to beat Barça because there are many kids whose parents and grandparents are from Barça and will return home and say that they are from the second team of Catalonia.

"There are many people who are getting hooked on Girona. It is a global recognition of our club, idea and project and it means having an idea to move forward and grow. We are two goals behind Madrid, which is the top scorer in the League. This would be a beautiful goal, to be the highest scoring team in the League, a very nice detail. Then there is Dovbyk fighting to be the top scorer and it means that the team has done a lot and it is recognition for us.

"You have to feel proud, we are on people's world map for the way we play.

“I want people to say that we play very good football."
