A group of approximately 100 protesters against Israel gathered in Washington Square Park on Independence Day. They set fire to American flags and chanted “Burn it down!” as part of a planned event called “Flood Manhattan for July 4th.”

At least one person was arrested, cops said, but they did not disclose the charges the alleged perpetrator was facing.

In a video captured at the scene, a man wearing a Yankees hat attempted to engage with the group peacefully. However, he was immediately drowned out by another individual wearing glasses who enthusiastically shouted, “F–k Israel! F–k America! Woohoo!” This declaration was met with amusement from the surrounding affluent protesters.

The camera then focused on a damaged American flag lying on the ground, burning next to a poster featuring images of Trump and Biden wearing crowns under the words “DEATH TO ALL KINGS” in bold letters.

The poster was evidently a reference to the Supreme Court’s ruling earlier this week granting US presidents “absolute immunity” from prosecution from “official acts” during their time in office.

Keffiyeh-wearing photographers brought their lenses in close to capture the flag desecration as chants of “Free free free Palestine” and “Burn it down” echoed throughout the park.

The crowd appeared to burn several different flags throughout the protest.

The footage seems to take pains to avoid showing anyone’s faces, but the crowd skewed young.
