M62 LIVE traffic updates: 'Severe delays' as stretch of motorway fully shut
A stretch of the M62 is fully closed this morning due to a police incident - with 'severe delays' building.
The motorway has been closed off in both directions on a stretch in West Yorkshire. The closure is in place between junction 29 for the Lofthouse Interchange and junction 30 for Rothwell.
Emergency services are on the scene of the 'police-led incident'. Diversion routes are in place.
According to traffic alert service Inrix, there are 'severe delays' up to the closure. Motorway cameras show huge queues forming in both directions.
National Highways said: "The M62 in West Yorkshire is closed in both directions between J29 (Lofthouse Interchange / M1) and J30 (Rothwell) due to a Police led incident. Emergency services including West Yorkshire Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management."
