"Mantua Township Blood Drive in Partnership with Red Cross - Donate Life, Save Lives"
Mantua Township has joined forces with the American Red Cross to host a crucial blood drive, set to take place on Tuesday, July 9, at the municipal building. The initiative aims to collect a minimum of 74 donations, which will result in approximately 48 units of blood being contributed. While all blood types are welcome, there is a specific demand for O negative, A negative, and B negative blood types.

Educational Drive for Life-Saving Impact
Administrative Support Leah Clemenson of Mantua Township stresses the importance of the event in educating residents about the critical need for blood donations. Nationally, someone requires a blood transfusion every two seconds, highlighting the significance of such initiatives. Each unit donated at the blood drive has the potential to save up to three lives, emphasizing the far-reaching impact of such contributions.

A Tribute to a Life Lost
Clemenson's personal connection to the cause adds a poignant dimension to the drive, as she honors the memory of her late brother Matthew, who bravely battled acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Mayor Robert Zimmerman commends Clemenson for her dedication and encourages community members to participate in the drive in remembrance of Matthew.

Join the Cause
Interested donors have the opportunity to register for the drive by contacting (800) 733-2767 or visiting www.rcblood.org/donate with the sponsor code mantuatownship. As a token of appreciation, registrants will receive a complimentary Red Cross umbrella (while supplies last). The event will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a maximum of 74 slots available for applicants.

Empowering the Community
Clemenson reiterates Mantua Township's commitment to supporting hospitals and patients through blood donations. The blood drive serves as a platform for staff, residents, and individuals from surrounding areas to contribute to the noble cause of saving lives.
