Land Rover has introduced the 2025 Defender OCTA with more power, exclusivity, and a higher price tag.

Starting at $153,475, the Defender OCTA features a range of enhancements, including a new engine and various off-road upgrades. It's powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine borrowed from BMW delivering 626 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. This engine surpasses the previous supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 in the Defender lineup.

The OCTA can reach a top speed of 155 mph with appropriate tires and boasts an eight-speed automatic transmission. Land Rover claims the OCTA can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Additional modifications to the Defender OCTA include an additional 1.1 inches of ground clearance, a 2.7-inch wider track, and wheel-and-tire options ranging from 20 to 22 inches. The front brakes are bigger to stop all the heft, and it gets a redesigned front grille and bumper, along with a graphite-sprayed underbody. The OCTA gets yellow marker lights added to the front due to the vehicle's increased width.

Inside, the Defender OCTA offers sportier seats available in semi-aniline leather or more durable materials like Kvadrat textile or Ultrafabrics. These seats come with embedded speakers and a vibration function that syncs with the music. A new OCTA drive mode, activated by a long press of a steering-wheel button, offers different tuning and off-road-focused launch control.

Land Rover is initially limiting production to 300 units to generate interest. An optional Edition One package, starting at $169,275, includes visual enhancements such as green interior upholstery, carbon trim, special 20-inch wheels, and an optional matte wrap. Orders for the Defender OCTA are now open, and the vehicle will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. later this month.
