In a bold move, award-winning actress and filmmaker Uche Jombo is ready to impress football fans and movie lovers with her latest project, “Onye Egwu.”

Onye Egwu‘ is a story of overcoming obstacles and rediscovering passion; The film is co-produced by Uche Jombo alongside Taiwo Adebayo Folashade. Sports drama is an unpopular genre in Nigeria and we are eager to see how the movie is received.

The movie, which we hope will deliver a compelling narrative of Nigeria’s sports community, is slated for release on Amazon Prime Video on July 19th.

Starring Zubby Michael in a transformative role, “Onye Egwu” follows the journey of a football prodigy whose career is abruptly derailed by unforeseen challenges. Struggling to find his way back to the game he loves, he encounters Nedu, a rising star portrayed by Kayode Ojuolape, whose infectious enthusiasm reignites his dormant dreams.

The cast features a stellar lineup of Nigerian movie talents such as Tina Mba, Chioma Akpotha, Ini Edo, Lateef Adedimeji, Mr Macaroni, Nancy Isime, Broda Shaggi, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, Williams Uchemba, Lilian Esoro, and BBN star Tacha, among others.

The movie was shot against the backdrop of Nigeria’s lively football culture, The film guarantees stunning visuals and powerful storytelling.
