The tragic incident that unfolded at Woodlands Secondary School in Singapore has left a deep impact on the local community. The mother of 14-year-old Lu Xuanzheng, who collapsed and passed away during a school sports run, made a heartfelt decision to donate his organs, fulfilling his greatest wish. Mother's Unwavering Love and Sacrifice Lu Xuanzheng's mother, Su Yanfen, an accountant, stood by her son's side during his hospitalization at KK Women’s and Children's Hospital. Despite the medical attention he received, Lu was declared brain-dead after being in a coma for 24 days. Devastated by the sudden loss of her son, Su shared that Xuanzheng's wish was always to help others, a wish she made sure to honor. A Heart-Wrenching Decision Having already faced immense challenges in life, including the loss of her husband and falling victim to an online scam, Su grappled with the decision of organ donation. Her initial instinct was to protect her son from further pain, but upon realizing the dire need for organ transplants, she selflessly chose to proceed with the donation. A Gift of Life On the day of the organ transplant surgery, family and friends gathered to bid farewell to Xuanzheng and show support to Su. The surgery resulted in Lu's corneas, liver, kidneys, pancreas, and skin being donated to benefit at least three patients in need.
