Ogbu Pledges To Build Strong, United PDP In Benue

Former Chairman, Board of Directors of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Chief Patrick Ogbu, has pledged to build a strong and united People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue, if elected Chairman of the party in the state.

Ogbu who promised that if elected, his leadership, would create opportunities for fair representation and provide a platform for the voice of members to be heard, noted that his leadership would be committed to transparency and accountability that would cater for the diverse perspectives and values of party members across the state.

The former Chairman of the NTA board, disclosed this while briefing members of the party in Makurdi last weekend, and advancing reasons for picking the nomination form to contest the position of chairmanship of the PDP in Benue.

While he explained that he took the decision to contest the position after thorough consultation, Ogbu explained that he was convinced the party in the state needed a chairman who would unite and empower its members.

Ogbu, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP, ahead of the 2023 governorship election said, “Today, I stand before you with a sense of responsibility, privilege, and honor to restate my intention to run for the chairmanship position, which I formalized by picking up the form.

“This journey began with our State Working Committee’s resolution to commence the sale of forms for all party positions on 25th June, 2024.

“My vision is not just about leadership; it’s about empowering each and every one of us. It’s about creating a party where every member has a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose, and a sense of pride.

“Let’s work together to build a party that we can all be proud of; a party that truly serves our community and makes a positive impact on our state and country.

“As a former governorship aspirant in 2023, I’m elated to be joined by my colleagues, former governorship aspirants in this step toward leadership.

“After thorough consultations, and still engaging, I’m convinced our party needs a chairman who will unite, inspire, and empower our members.”

Furthermore, Ogbu said, “With my leadership, you can expect more opportunities for growth and fair representation; a stronger and more united party; platform for your voice to be heard; a commitment to transparency and accountability as well as a party that truly represents our diverse perspectives and values

“So, I ask for your support, your enthusiasm, and your trust in this journey. I’m not just asking for your vote; I’m asking for your partnership.

“Together, let’s build a stronger, more united party where every voice matters and every member is empowered” he appealed.
