Oliver Glasner could now unleash £50m star for the first time against Manchester United

Manchester United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.

But not too many Red Devils supporters will be really that interested. The Premier League season is essentially over for Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United squad.

The only real question is, where will United finish? And how will that affect their European future? All will be revealed in the latter stages of the season.

Next up, a trip to Selhurst Park – where United will have their eyes on more than a couple of names ahead of next season’s campaign.

Manchester United’s eyes will be on Michael Olise

Given a plethora of reports, Manchester United are now favourites to sign Michael Olise in the summer.

The Frenchman has been one of Crystal Palace’s star men over the past few Premier League campaigns, and there are more than a couple of reasons Manchester United are interested in luring him to Old Trafford.

The first, Manchester United are still in dire need of a right-winger. Despite splashing big money on Antony and Jadon Sancho in recent years, neither has been able to vacate the gaping hole in that right-hand side of the attack to a decent standard. This means Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos mob are likely to shop elsewhere.

The second – it’s been revealed that Olise is a massive Manchester United fan. This is the direction the club want to take, having players that want to play for United, as opposed to coming for a quick cash grab.

This will be the final chance Olise has to show what he’s got against the Red Devils. A last audition, if you will. But such as most eyes will be on the 22-year-old, they’ll also be on another man, who is set to be back in Crystal Palace’s squad to face Ten Hag’s side.

But Marc Guehi is also back for Crystal Palace

Marc Guehi hasn’t played for three months following knee surgery but is now back in full training and is expected to be named in the squad to face Manchester United on Monday.

Much like Olise, Guehi could be playing for a place in Manchester United’s first-team squad next season. The English defender has also been linked with a £50m move to the red side of Manchester.

It’s unknown as to whether he’ll make it onto the pitch at Selhurst Park against the Red Devils, but Palace and Guehi will be delighted to be in and among it again, particularly with Euro 2024 around the corner.

This will be the first time Guehi is at the disposal of Oliver Glasner, who has done wonders since taking over from Roy Hodgson at the helm of the Eagles.
