HANDS are often what give away a person's age, but one woman has found a way to keep hers looking youthful.

The 50-year-old said her anti-aging routine makes them look half their age.

Redditor Gratefulphd detailed her skincare regimen in a comment on the social media platform.

She acknowledged that her steps for youthful hands are lengthy, but she stood by their efficacy.

"Disclaimer. I know this seems like a lot, yet it works for me," she said.

"Take from it what might work for you."

HELPING HAND

The Redditor said she hasn't missed a bi-weekly manicure-pedicure appointment in decades.

"I’ve been with the same nail tech for 20 years and adore her," she revealed.

She also doesn't neglect her hand hygiene, noting that washing them often can strip them of moisture.

"I wash my hands a gazillion times [per] day at work and home, and always apply a fragrance-free moisturizing cream after washing," she said.

"I only wash my hands with a gentle cleanser at home and use lukewarm water.

"I have moisturizer in every bag, in my car, by every sink, and stashed all over our home."

She avoids sun damage, a major cause of aging skin, by using sunscreen and gloves.

"During the day when outdoors, wear sunscreen on top of your moisturizer and wear gloves for sun, wind, and cold weather protection," she said.

She uses the EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Moisturizing Facial Sunscreen, which is sold for $43 on Amazon, on her face and hands outdoors.

"Of course, in the winter I’m usually wearing gloves," she added.

She also emphasized the importance of using products for the face on other parts of her body.

"In the mornings, whatever skincare I put on my face goes on my neck/back of neck, décolleté, and hands," she said.

For three nights out of the week, she exfoliates with Dr. Dennis Gross' Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel, followed by SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, and finishes with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream.

"Sometimes I’ll mix in an oil in with my moisturizer or add oil over my moisturizer. My faves are Trader Joe’s 100% Jojoba Oil and Biossance 100% Squalane Oil," she said.

She follows up with Vaseline and wears gloves to bed.

The other three nights she replaces Dr. Dennis Gross' Peel with Differin Gel, $14.97 on Amazon, and one night a week she simply moisturizes her hands without exfoliation or retinoid use.

"I’m a 50-year-old female. My sister thinks I’m crazy, yet my hands literally look 25 years younger than hers," she said.

"I have no age spots or sun spots on my hands and no crepey skin. And they remain incredibly soft, healthy, and smooth."
