A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and lead spokesman of the Team Asue Media Organisation, Deacon Darlington Okpebholo-Ray, has tasked Edo sons and daughters living abroad to return home and cast their votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo in the forthcoming governorship election in the State.

He also said, should they be unable to come home, they should mobilize their relatives at home to ensure his victory.

He gave the task when he met with members of the Edo Diaspora Movement for Asue/Ogie, in London.

Okpebholo-Ray emphasized that Ighodalo’s emergence is divinely ordained by God to take the state to another level of industrialisation and economic revamping as well as stemming the tide of insecurity in the state.

He said the need for them to rally round the governorship candidate of the party cannot be over-emphasized because if it is well with their brothers and sisters back home, the workload on them abroad will be reduced.

Okpebholo-Ray added that the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has done a lot in the past seven and half years in the state and that, what is needed is continuation of developmental projects and which he believes that Asue will easily and successfully build on.

Speaking at the meeting which was convened in London by Dr. Peter D’Rock Uwaibi with members of the Edo Diaspora Movement for Asue/Ogie, Barr. Eunice Inegbejie, a member of the group, while stating how prepared the group is, said, it has established functional committees across all 18 local governments, with coordinators and members in the 192 wards across the LGAs.

According to her ” we are working tirelessly to monitor and coordinate grassroots efforts, in order to gain landslide victory in all their units.

On her part, Princess Ronke Akilola, said the group would be willing to partner the state government in providing free healthcare services including free hernia surgeries, through operational centers in the three senatorial districts.
