Ikpide-Irri community expresses satisfaction over internal road project

The people of Ikpide-Irri community in Isoko South local government Area of Delta State, have expressed satisfaction with the community internal road construction by the Delta State government.

Speaking at Ikpide-Irri community during an inspection tour of the project by some journalists and social media influencers in the state, the former youth leader of the community, Mr James Ajise said, “we are happy and satisfied with the job done by the contractor and the Delta state government.

“Before now the community could only be accessed through the waterways but as at today you all drove your vehicles down here and we are all happy about it.

“As a people in one accord and unity, we are pleading with the state government to award the second phase of the internal road construction to enable us feel the impact of the government.

“We are surprised that after so many years, the road has not been commissioned while the Emevor- Orogun road that was awarded recently has been commissioned.

“The government should award the phase two of the road, so that during the commissioning, everybody would be happy.”

Also, former chairman of Ikpide-Irri community, Mr. Francis Agbefe, said the community was satisfied with the job done, but insisted that only the commissioning and award of the second phase will make their joy complete.

He said as the chairman of the community at a time the job was awarded and construction work begun, he could remember vividly the excitement in the faces of the people at the sight of heavy duty construction equipments in the community.

While showing appreciation to High Chief Immanuel Emoefe, an illustrious son of the soil for facilitating this project to the community, Agbefe insisted that a lot is been expected from the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration by Ikpide people in the area of other critical infrastructures in the place, adding that the official commissioning of the project will go a long way to give the community a sense of belonging.

“I am pleased with the completed phase one of the road and I want the other phase to be awarded and completed in other to remove shame from the community” he said.

“We thank our son Chief Okpugo for this project as well as the immediate past Governor. We are hoping that this new administration will address the phase 2 and also other needs of the community.
