Jessica Springsteen, daughter of legendary musician Bruce Springsteen, will not be competing in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Jessica Springsteen didn't make Team USA's equestrian squad

The U.S. equestrian team announced its roster on Saturday, revealing veteran riders Kent Farrington, Laura Kraut, and McLain Ward as the chosen representatives, with Karl Cook named as an alternate.

The 32-year-old Springsteen, who secured a silver medal in Tokyo as part of the U.S. show jumping team in 2021, did not make the cut this year.

The news has been disappointing for some, particularly as Bruce Springsteen had planned a break in his European tour to support his daughter at the Versailles competition venue.

Jessica Springsteen's journey to the 2024 Olympic Games began on a high note when she was initially listed among the top 10 athletes on the U.S. Jumping Team's shortlist in April.

However, her ranking plummeted to 127th according to the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, a sharp drop from her 14th position in 2021.

In 2021, Springsteen, along with teammates Laura Kraut and McLain Ward, delivered an outstanding performance to bring home the fourth medal for the U.S. equestrian team in the past five Olympic Games.

Her horse, a 12-year-old Belgian warmblood, played a crucial role in this achievement.

Reflecting on her Tokyo experience, Springsteen expressed her desire to share such a momentous event with her family, who were unable to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Springsteen's passion for equestrian sports began at the age of four on her family's farm in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Her early start in the sport quickly turned into a remarkable career, as she began competing against seasoned riders.

She has consistently highlighted the unique bond between rider and horse as a significant aspect of her love for the sport.

Despite this setback, Springsteen's career remains illustrious.

She has achieved notable victories, including team gold at the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup at CHIO Aachen in 2021, and has been a dominant force in international competitions.

The equestrian events at the Paris Olympics are set to begin on July 27, with individual jumping qualifiers starting shortly thereafter.
