After a prolonged silence, Nollywood stalwart Zubby Michael has at last addressed the passing of his colleague, Junior Pope.

Recall the stir caused when, amidst the outpouring of grief from his colleagues such as Angela Okorie, Ebele Okaro, Ini Edo, Destiny Etiko, Chizzy Alichi, Prince Eke, Jerry Amilo, Patience Ozokwo, and Lizzy Gold, Zubby Micheal maintained a conspicuous silence.

Angela Okorie, in particular, took to Instagram to voice her discontent, leveling multiple allegations against him, including accusations of jealousy and selfishness.

Zubby in response, on Thursday, April 18, with an Instagram post aimed at those questioning his lack of public mourning or tribute posts.

In a video shared on his page, he captioned: “Make una rest no be by posting,” implying that mourning should not be measured by social media tribute.

Giving in to the mounting pressure, the 39-year-old actor took to his Instagram page on Thursday to share a heartfelt tribute. Alongside a poignant picture of Junior Pope, he expressed the profound challenge of bidding farewell to a cherished friend.

“It is difficult to say RIP Nwanne,” he simply wrote.

Junior Pope’s demise was confirmed on the fateful night of April 10, following futile efforts to revive him.

The actor, accompanied by makeup artist Abigail Frederick and the production crew members Friday, Olanti, and Precious, tragically lost their lives in a heartbreaking incident, succumbing to the unforgiving waters of the Anam River while returning from the set of “Another Side of Life,” a film helmed by Adanma Luke.
