POINTING OUT that Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to draw a negative picture of children and send out a wrong message among them, the Congress Thursday flayed the PM for ridiculing Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Parliament as “childish.”

BJP should remember that it was also in the opposition for years. By describing Rahul Gandhi’s speech as childish, the Prime Minister has tried to ridicule India’s children. He tried to draw a negative picture of children,” Congress spokesperson Gopal Tiwari said in a press release.

Tiwari said does the Prime Minister has the right to show children in poor light? “It is said that PM stooped low while attacking Rahul Gandhi. In the process, he made fun of children,” he said.

Tiwari said Prime Minister veered away from speech and only sought to target the Congress leader. ”Instead of touching on crucial issues affecting the nation, the Prime Minister’s speech was mainly aimed at targeting the Congress and our leader Rahul Gandhi. This is highly unbecoming of the Prime Minister of the country. Modi sometimes forgets that he is the Prime Minister of India and not that of a particular party.”

Tiwari said if the PM is attacked by the opposition, he should take it in right spirit. “PM should remember that we are living in a democracy. And the opposition has every right to point out his governments flaws and acts of omissions and commissions,” he said.

Tiwari said Rahul Gandhi rightly attacked the fake Hindutva of BJP. ”Whatever Rahul Gandhi said is true. BJP is propagating fake Hindutva. Rahul Gandhi rightly said BJP does not represent Hindus. BJP is trying to spread hatred in the name of Hindutva. It should look inwards and realise the damage it has done to our peace-loving Hindu community’s image,” he said.
