Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Inquisitors #1

Summary

  • Jedi Knight Tensu Run defies the Empire in his efforts to restore the Jedi Order in Star Wars: Inquisitors #1.
  • Tensu Run joins the small list of Jedi survivors who sought to revive the Jedi Order during the Dark Times, including Jocasta Nu and Cal Kestis.
  • Darth Vader recognizes Tensu Run as a major threat, and the Empire is seeking to hunt him down to prevent the restoration of the Jedi Order and his great ability to inspire hope.

Star Wars has revealed a brand-new Order 66 survivor who tried to bring back the Jedi Order. While there were Jedi who managed to survive the deadly purge enacted by Emperor Palpatine, very few lived for long thanks to the Imperial Inquisitorius and its Jedi-hunting agents skilled in the dark side of the Force. Nevertheless, a Jedi Knight named Tensu Run openly defied the Empire in his attempts to restore the Order.

As seen in the new Inquisitors #1 by Rodney Barnes and Ramon Rosanas, the Empire is desperately hunting Tensu Run due to his efforts to bring back the Jedi Order. He's also become a dangerous symbol of light and hope the Inquisitors have been tasked with snuffing out by Darth Vader himself. To that end, Tensu and his allies are well aware of how badly the Empire wants him dead and how much he means to their growing resistance.

Clearly, Tensu is determined to create a haven for both victims of the Empire's oppression and any surviving Jedi he can find. However, the odds are certainly not looking good for Run's continued acts of Imperial defiance.

Having begun his resistance against the Empire during the Dark Times, Tensu Run has now joined the small number of survivors who also tried to bring back the Jedi Order. This notably includes the Jedi Temple's archivist Jocasta Nu who was brutally murdered by Darth Vader, as well as Cal Kestis who is known as the leading protagonist in EA's Jedi video games whose final fate has yet to be revealed. That said, Kestis has fought and evaded his fair share of Inquisitors, just as Tensu Run no doubt will as this new Star Wars series continues.

Based on Tensu Run's position in the Star Wars timeline, it's already known that his goal of restoring the Jedi Order will fail. After all, Luke Skywalker's Jedi academy which he built during the New Republic Era ultimately failed following Ben Solo's corruption as Kylo Ren. However, perhaps Rey Skywalker will have lasting success with her own New Jedi Order in her upcoming movie set after the sequels. That said, Tensu's mission and determination to take the Inquisitors head-on will certainly be quite the ride, even though his defeat is all but guaranteed.

Apparently, it seems as though Tensu Run possesses the great ability to inspire and generate hope within those who've chosen to fight alongside him and those he's sworn to protect from Imperial oppression. This truth of Tensu's great importance is further proven by Darth Vader himself, who voices to the Grand Inquisitor just how important and dangerous Run could become should he be allowed to survive and continue his efforts to restore the Jedi Order. As such, the introduction of Jedi Knight Tensu Run is a great way to kick off this brand-new Star Wars series.
