Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea fc news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Chelsea have again been encouraged to sign a new striker when the transfer window opens up.

Jackson was the big signing for CHELSEA last season as they wanted to sign a striker that had the ability to score goals on a weekly basis, and Jackson impressed last season.

However – the forward has not been as impressive as many would have liked and there has been alot of speculation that a new striker will need to get signed in order to replace Jackson.

And despite liking Jackson – pundit Gary Neville has opened up and told the club that they need to sign a new striker in the summer window: ‘I actually like Nicolas Jackson, might be an unpopular opinion on here, but I like him,’ said Neville on Sky Sports’ The Gary Neville Podcast.

‘I think he has a lot to give, he’s a young player. I think he’s not cost stupid money but it’s his first full season in the Premier League, he’s scored quite a few goals and he keeps going. There’s a lot to be said for that.

‘He might not be striker number one but if he was your striker number two or number three in a squad of 18 to 20, you’ll say, ‘I’ll take that’. So for me, the performance Chelsea put in against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final that was a hell of a performance. Good, really good.

‘And if they had a forward who could finish more consistently than Nicolas Jackson then they would have obviously won the game, and I think that’s what Chelsea’s owners should be looking at.

‘Performance standards are not consistent, they’re awful when they’re awful, but actually their good looks quite exciting and you can see something.

CHELSEA HOLD THIAGO MOTTA TALKS –

Journalist Eleonora Trotta has claimed that Chelsea have made contact with someone they feel could replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino is a man that is attracting all the wrong kind of headlines as he may not even get his Chelsea side back into a European place after a very disappointing season back in the Premier League.

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that the likes of Roberto Di Zerbi, Ruben Amorim and even Zinedine Zidane could be the next man in to try and take CHELSEA forward in the coming seasons.

However – Thiago Motta is reportedly admired at the club, with him working wonders in Serie A as the manager of Bologna.

Trotta has now claimed that the Blues have actually reached out to the former midfielder, as they seemingly prepare to get rid of their current boss once the season is finally over.

She said: “Thiago Motta to Juventus: in recent days there has been a survey, not in-depth, by Chelsea for the coach of Bologna, who has been in agreement for months with the Bianconeri regarding the new course.”

However – the report has also claimed that Motta has no intention on leaving Bologna at this stage of his career.

IcFootballnews VIEW…

It almost seems inevitable that Pochettino will get the sack at the end of the season – it has not gone to plan for him at Chelsea and he hasnt got the backing from the board that he would surely have liked.

Motts is a name that is quite surprising to be linked with a move to Chelsea, but he is doing pretty well at Bologna and will be courted by the big clubs in the coming seasons.

We just dont see him as the man to get CHELSEA back in the hunt for that Premier League title

BENJAMIN SESKO WANTED AT CHELSEA –

It has been claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko to his Chelsea side.

The Blues spent heavily in the summer transfer window, breaking their own transfer record to sign sign a number of players that they feel will help drive the club into a new era of winning trophies.

However – despite the good form of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, there are many out there that believe the club are still lacking a striker to score the goals on a regular basis, with the likes of Ivan Toney linked.

CHELSEA are favourites to land Toney as they look to add a notable striker to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, and the 27-year-old is believed to be open to leaving Brentford at the end of the season.

But his £100 million asking price may put alot of clubs off in the summer window because of the financial fair play rules – meaning that the likes of Chelsea may have to switch attentions to the likes of Sesko.

According to journalist Simon Phillips’ Substack columnvia Chelsea News, CHELSEA have been talking about adding Sesko to the side.

Phillips claims that the Slovenia international has already been approached by the Blues, via his representatives, ahead of a possible move to Stamford Bridge in the coming months to partner him with Cole Palmer.

And if you believe the words of reporter Iomie Stanley – he could be a great signing for the club: ‘The lad is showing all the potential and quality that will determine how far he goes in the game.
