National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has called on the national leader of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Musa Kwankwaso, to forget about becoming the President of Nigeria in 2027, saying there is no vacancy in Aso Rock.

Speaking, while addressing supporters, who paid him a solidarity visit at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, he explained that the plot against him was part of the grand design to undermine the chances of the APC ahead of the 2027 poll.

He claimed that the NNPP and its chieftains had become jittery of another defeat, hence the propaganda against the leadership of the APC.

He said: “They are so afraid because we are consolidating. They are so afraid all over the country because we are receiving new entrants into our party. That is creating fears in their minds. They are already eyeing 2027, but that time, there is no vacancy. Only our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will, Insha-Allah, continue with the as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The convener of the solidarity walk, Prof. Salihu Ahmad Alizaga, had said loyal party men and women converged to show solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of APC.

Earlier, there were protests in Abuja by youths over alleged plans to remove Ganduje from office.

The protesting youths and women claimed the moves were made by some individuals, who were not members of the APC, adding they capitalised on the agitations of few disgruntled members of APC who claimed to be from North Central zone

Co-convener of the protest, Salihu Ahmad Alizaga, addressed journalists, saying that the APC was one united family, devoid of rancour as being erroneously portrayed and speculated by few sponsored individuals.

“We are very much aware that there is an orchestrated attempt to blackmail the National Chairman by the Kwankwasiyya Movement, who has now found accomplices in some former governors of the North Central State to push for the removal of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje from office.
