The holiday booking firm KAYAK has shared locations to rent a car in, with many popular summer holiday destinations featuring in the list.

With many families set to go on a holiday, hiring a car can help them to get to the destinations they are most interested in easily and travel longer distances for less.

Despite the overall cost of motoring rising in recent years, Rachel Mumford, travel expert at KAYAK, suggested that hire car prices are falling.

She advised: "With car hire prices falling, this summer is an ideal time for travellers to explore new horizons behind the wheel, be it the historic streets of Krakow or the sun kissed beaches of Granadilla.

"Using KAYAK, travellers can find affordable flights and budget-friendly car rentals in one place, making it easier and affordable to embark on their next adventure."

Granadilla and Arrecife in the Canary Islands were also found to have incredibly cheap car rental prices, helping holidaymakers find the best coastal views.
