Fire rips through Paisley building days after huge blaze at Linwood industrial estate

Emergency services including police and firefighters rushed to Well Street just before 1am on Saturday following reports of a 'derelict' building up in flames.

A huge fire ripped through a Paisley tenement in the early hours on Saturday, June 29, just days after a massive inferno at Linwood industrial estate (June 23).

Emergency services including police and firefighters rushed to Well Street just before 1am following reports of a 'derelict' building up in flames. The building was reportedly vacant at the time of the fire.

The road was closed from Well Street to Brown Street while fire crews battled the blaze and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Police Scotland confirmed that there were no reported injuries.

Footage shared with Glasgow Live shows a massive fire raging through the top floor of the building. Other images emergency services working to bring the fire under control as well as its devastating aftermath.

The cause of the blaze remains unclear at this stage.

This incident comes less than a week after a nearby recycling plant in Linwood went on fire.
