Ewu Monarch Resolves Rift Between Omafuvwe, Assah Communities

The traditional ruler of Ewu kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM Clement Ikolo, has settled the rift between Omafuvwe and Assah communities in his clan.

This peace was brokered during a peace meeting held on April 30, 2024 and mediated by the reverred monarch.

In a chat after the meeting, the monarch said the historic meeting brought an end to years of conflict and clandestine hostilities, ushering in a new era of reconciliation and cooperation between the two communities.

The peace meeting, which saw the participation of key community leaders including presidents-general and community chairmen, were instrumental in fostering a sense of unity and understanding among the previously warring factions.

He noted that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s call for solidarity within the kingdom motivated him to act promptly, culminating in a peaceful settlement that averted further economic losses for both communities.

The jubilant atmosphere that followed the agreement, characterized by warm handshakes and a symbolic group photograph, symbolizes the dawn of a promising chapter of unity and progress in the region.
