Kansas Authorities Hunt for Young Mother, 2 Children Who May Have Been ‘Coerced’ to Go to Mexico

Authorities in Kansas have issued an endangered persons advisory for a 23-year-old mother and her two young children who “may have been coerced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation facility.”

Martha Unger and her daughters, 2-year-old Madilynn Grace Unger and 1-year-old Haylie Faith Unger, were reported missing from their rural Haskell County hom Friday night just before 7 p.m., the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said

Unger is believed to be driving a white 2015 Ford Explorer with Kansas tag 301RJY. But investigators believe she is being forced to drive to Mexico by a couple in their 50s, identified as Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen. The Klaasens may be in a white and black Chevy Blazer with a Mexico license plate.

Martha Unger is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 120 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. Her daughters have blonde hair and blue eyes.

Corney Klaasen is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He is clean shaven and was last seen wearing jeans and a button up shirt.

KBI asks that anyone who sees the Ungers of Klaasens or the vehicles to call 911 immediately. Anyone with other information should call the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office at 620-675-2289.
