Osun: Transport managers want ‘Emir’ arrested over mayhem on members

Blueprint 2 days ago

The Osun State Transport Management System (OSTMS) has urged the security operatives to urgently arrest one of its members, Oyeyemi Olalekan (Emir) for allegedly leading thugs to forcefully take over control of the park and attempted to kill the state chairman, Wakeel Nurudeen (Alowonle).

Emir, who had been declared wanted by the police in the past, is currently standing trial before the Federal High Court in Osogbo for alleged conspiracy, arson, killing, terrorism, and others.

State Secretary of OSTMS, Alhaji Mukaila Poppola, who spoke at a press conference in Osogbo, Wednesday, alleged that Emir,  Olawale Moshood (Lion) and Alapadupe, led hoodlums to invade the park where some members were injured and tickets valued at N6,450,000 carted away.

Popoola debunked the allegation by the factional group that Governor Adeleke’s family was collecting money from the park management.

He said, “It should be noted that Wasiu Arogundade (Aroao), Jelili Moronkade, Nurudeen Sulaiman (Biggie), Akeem Mustapha (Abbey Ashipa), have been working with officials of NURTW outside the state to create anarchy and keep the OSTMS disunited in a bid to bring back NURTW, specifically to antagonize the re-election of our performing Governor.

“These persons in conjunction with hoodlums, including Oyeyemi Olalekan (Emir), Olawale Moshood (Lion) and Alapadupe among others, should be arrested by the security operatives to question them for invading our secretariat and stealing within. And also for attempting to kill our Chairman, Wakeel Nurudeen (Alowonle) on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

“While we await Police actions the above, we hereby state that Osun State Tranhast Management System have confidence in the leadership of Wakeel Nurudeen. He is a team leader, calm and The Adeleke dynasty has never at any point requested any money from the OSTMS leadership, group or branch for whatever reasons.

“OSTMS, as a body inaugurated by the government of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, remain loyal and committed to the administration and will not allow disgruntled elements being used by some political opposition to bring back the dark days of NURTW to Osun State,” Popoola said.

Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke has warned the transport workers against plunging the state into chaos, warning that troublemakers will be made to face the wrath of the law.
