This comprehensive software suite, generously donated by PE Limited (PETEX), represents a substantial addition to TTU’s advanced technology-driven research and training facilities.

It encompasses robust reservoir simulation capabilities designed to support various aspects of petroleum production, including reservoir management, well-completion intervention, and production optimization.

The launch of this software suite was marked by a ceremony at which TTU’s Vice Chancellor, Rev Prof John Frank Eshun, underscored the pivotal role of the oil and gas sector in fostering economic development. He also emphasized TTU’s commitment to equipping students with cutting-edge tools and knowledge essential for succeeding in the industry.

Rev Prof Eshun highlighted the software’s advanced features, noting its sophisticated algorithms and user-friendly interface that provide an interactive learning environment. He emphasized its applications across disciplines such as reservoir engineering, production optimization, economic analysis, and environmental impact assessment.

Prof John Bentil, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at TTU, highlighted how technological advancements, like this software suite, transform technical and vocational education. He acknowledged the challenges faced in resource-constrained environments and expressed gratitude for PETEX’s donation’s game-changing impact.

Dr Joseph Sekyi Ansah, Head of the Department of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering at TTU, thanked PETEX for its visionary support. He elaborated on the software’s benefits, emphasizing that students will gain hands-on experience with tools used by industry professionals. Faculty and researchers, he added, will conduct advanced studies, positioning TTU as a leader in oil and gas research and fostering partnerships with industry stakeholders.

Industry leaders, including representatives from Baker Hughes and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), have commended the acquisition of this software. They lauded TTU’s initiative to prepare the next generation of oil and gas professionals. They emphasized the software’s role in enhancing educational outcomes and industry collaboration.

Donating the Petroleum Engineering Software Suite to TTU signifies a significant stride towards bridging the gap between academic learning and industry application, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to tackle the evolving challenges of the oil and gas sector.
