…Felicitates Governor as Anambra tops States Fiscal Transparency Ranking

The Transition Committee Chairman Designate of Orumba North Local Government Area, Captain Barr. Casmir Nwafor Rtd has congratulated the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his emergence as the Vice Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum (SGF).

This is just as he has rejoiced with the governor as Anambra emerged number one in the States Fiscal Transparency Ranking out of the 36 states of the federation according to the States Fiscal Transparency League (SFTL) Table Quarter One of 2024.

Governor Soludo was elected the Vice Chairman of the Forum at the Southern Governors’ Forum meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital recently. He is to deputize Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor who emerged as the Chairman of the Forum. The Southern Governors’ Forum is the umbrella body for all the governors from the Southern part of Nigeria including the Southeast, South-South and Southwest geopolitical zones.

Speaking in a statement in Oko on Thursday, Nwafor opined that Soludo’s emergence as the Vice Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum is a testament to the sterling qualities of the governor which has endeared him to many within and outside the state.

He observed that the governor stands out as a shining example and a reference point to his peers describing him as a rare breed with global recognition for his expertise and achievement. He went on to say that with this development, Soludo has left no one in doubt as to his dedication, commitment, hard work and visionary leadership.

While assuring that the governor will do well in his new position, the incoming Mayor of Orumba North Local Government further assured that Soludo will bring his wealth of experience in different areas of life to bear to bring about the desired change in the forum adding that the Forum stands to benefit from his vast experience and innovative approach to governance.

He thereafter described the emergence of the governor as another big win not only to himself but to the entire members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and the people of Anambra State noting that the governor has once again demonstrated the can do spirit of APGA and had taken the party to another height by this development.

He, therefore, wished the governor success as he steps into this new role adding that he has no doubt that the governor will bring about impactful initiatives and unite the southern states. 

On the emergence of Anambra State as number one in the Q1 States Fiscal Transparency Ranking, the retired Army Captain stated that the feat was achieved as a result of prudent management of the meager resources of the state and the financial discipline of the governor which is manifest in all spheres of the administration.

Noting that this is the first time Anambra State has achieved this feat since its creation in 1991, Nwafor maintained that Anambra State has yet again excelled, setting standards for other states to follow even as he congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the entire people of Anambra State for this milestone.
