The prevalence of fentanyl in the drug supply poses a significant risk, especially when combined with other substances. Root Causes: The roots of this crisis can be traced back to decades of discriminatory policies such as the War on Drugs, which led to mass incarceration and perpetuated substance use stigma within Black communities. This has resulted in limited access to life-saving resources such as naloxone. Taking Action: Boston is taking concrete steps to combat this crisis.
