PCC Parleys Paramount FM on Peaceful Co-existence in Ogun

The Federal Commissioner, Ogun State office of the Public Complaints Commission, Mr Morakinyo Akinleye has enlisted the support of Radio Nigeria in the efforts to encourage more aggrieved residents of the state to take advantage of the Commission’s mandate of helping the masses to seek redress.

Mr Akinleye made the appeal when he led his management team on a courtesy visit to the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Mr Akinyinka Akintola at the station’s Broadcasting House, along Kobape Road, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Federal Commissioner who emphasised that the Public Complaints Commission had been instrumental in resolving disputes of different nature among the people disclosed that more than 500 official complaints were recorded in the state last year, while disagreements over land matters took the largest percentage.

Affirming that the Commission, as the people’s Ombudsman was committed to ensuring social justice for the citizenry, Mr Akinleye said a synergy with Radio Nigeria would enable the creation of more awareness about the Commission’s readiness to defend the rights of residents, regardless of their status.

He encouraged the people to visit the Commission’s offices across the four zones in the state, as well as the state headquarters, Federal Secretariat, Oke Mosan Abeokuta to file formal complaints, giving the assurance that relevant professionals would be saddled with the responsibility of investigating the matters to logical conclusions.

In a response, the General Manager, Radio Nigeria Paramount FM, Mr Akinyinka Akintola said the Federal Commissioner’s gesture would further cement the cordial relationship between both organisations in the efforts to keep the people informed of the Commission’s activities.

Mr Akintola gave the assurance that Radio Nigeria would continue support every effort aimed at uplifting the people to enhance national peace and progress.
