In the 2023 general elections, the good people of Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna state, voted Honourable Sadiq Ango Abdullahi to represent them in the green chamber of the National Assembly after losing in 2015 and 2019. His victory is due to his tenacity, perseverance and sacrifice. On 13th June, 2024, Reps Sadiq marked his one year in office amidst pomp and pageantry.
He is being celebrated by his constituents for living up to their expectations. However, there are still a lot of expectations from the legislator because of the complexity of Sabon Gari local government area. For the first time and as a first timer at the National Assembly in the history of Sabon-gari federal constituency, the electorate have benefited or tasted the dividends of democracy, courtesy of good representation by Sadiq Ango Abdullahi.
His ability to carry the youths along has endeared him to them. As the saying goes, “Youths are the bedrock of the society”. May Allah grant you the ability to do more than the expectations. We will like to see you as a role model who redefined politics and brought massive development that positively changed the lives of your constituents.
His achievements within the period of just one year include the award of scholarship to more than 680 students in higher institution of learning. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi believes that to educate the youths is to develop society. Thus, he committed millions of naira to sponsor these students across the nooks and crannies of the local government area.
The lawmaker is assessable to his constituents. Unlike other legislators who hardly visit their constituency but make Abuja their permanent base, Sadiq Ango always visits his constituency and interacts with the people to know their problems. His house has become a Mecca of sorts, accommodating people from far and near with their hefty problems.
Sadiq Ango Abdullahi has never faltered in addressing their problems. His quality representation has further manifested on how he visits his constituency, articulate their needs and forward them for legislative action. Reps Sadiq Ango Abdullahi has empowered youths and vulnerable women with money and tools to become self-reliant.
The Hausa saying that “yau tafi jiya”, meaning today is better than yesterday, succinctly fits the leadership style of Sadiq Ango Abdullahi as his achievements are evident across the constituency. While those who served in the past did their best, what is ongoing marvels even his enemies.
Sadiq Ango Abdullahi’s exceptional performance in the green chamber did not come to us as surprise. Before his foray in politics, his Spartan lifestyle and generousity spoke volumes about him. Despite coming from an influencial family, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi maintains a simple lifestyle and assisted whoever came his way.
His landslide victory in 2023 general elections indicated how he is loved by the people. Though, he was in captivity as bandits attacked the train he boarded from Kaduna to Abuja, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi went ahead to win the election, defeating fourth term member,Datti Babawo. This was indeed historical.
Sadiq Ango Abdullahi has proven beyond reasonable doubt that, he is equal to the task of uplifting the lives of his constituents. Evidence abound of his scorecard within the period under review. His bursary awards to hundreds of students, youths empowerment to vulnerable women and above all regular visitation to his constituency attest to this fact.
