Fans are starting to understand why Spain are playing like they are at Euro 2024 as 'incredible' training drill goes viral

Spain have been the standout performers at Euro 2024.

Footage from Spain's training session ahead of their Euro 2024 semi-final clash against France is going viral as they continue to shine at this summer's tournament.

Luis de la Fuente's side have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in Germany.

In fact, they are the only team in the competition to have won all its matches, beating Croatia, Italy and Albania in the group stage before seeing off Georgia and Germany to reach the semi-final.

Spain have netted 11 goals in all. Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams continue to be a constant threat on both flanks, while the likes of Fabio Ruiz and Pedri, who is out for the remainder of the tournament, dominate centrally.

La Roja have somewhat abandoned their old 'tiki-taka' style of play in favour of a more direct approach – and it's worked a treat thus far.

“If we have players with the pace of Lamine, Nico, Ferran (Torres) or Ayoze (Perez), it makes no sense not to use those options,” said De la Fuente earlier in the tournament. “We’re very dangerous in these types of situations.”

That creative freedom is certainly apparent in training. Ahead of Tuesday's much-anticipated clash against France, footage has emerged of the squad performing an impressive skill-based drill.

As you can see from the footage below, each player has a cone in their hand as they perform kick-ups whilst running.

Then, the player in question must drop their cone over a pole, making sure to keep the ball in the air before passing to his teammate.

After their late win over Germany in the quarter-final, De la Fuente says he is "absolutely convinced" his side can go all the way.

"This is a winning horse," he said. "I'm proud to coach players like this, players that are insatiable. They're used to competing at the highest level and they have an opportunity to win the tournament."

The Spaniard added: "I am proud we are able to represent our country. We're absolutely convinced that we can get very far with this side.

"We are so happy, but our euphoria is totally under control. We know tomorrow is already another day."
