Kalki 2898 AD has become the centre of attention in Bollywood. The film's story, ensemble cast, direction, and success have been hogging all the limelight. The film, directed by South Indian filmmaker, Nag Ashwin, has drawn audiences to the theatres. Within a few days of its release, it earned more than INR 700 crore at the box office. Deepika Padukone began shooting for Kalki 2898 AD in 2022. Earlier this year, she and her husband, Ranveer Singh, announced they were expecting their first child together in September 2024. So, the fans wondered if Deepika did the shooting for the project while being pregnant. For the unversed, Deepika is shown pregnant in the film. The film's director, Nag Ashwin, confirmed the speculation in his recent interview with ET Times. He was quoted saying:

"She did actually in the end. In one of her last pickup shots, she was pregnant. So there were two days when her actual child also acted in the movie."

Ranveer Singh visited the shoot of 'Kalki 2898 AD' when Deepika was pregnant

Another actor from the film, Saswata Chatterjee, revealed more insights about Deepika in his interview with News18 Showsha. The actor who played 'Manas' said the actress was pregnant when they shot the ending where his character drags Deepika's 'Sumathi.' Moreover, he added that her actor-husband, Ranveer Singh was present on set. Recalling the incident, he said:

"There is a scene in the film where I drag her by the hair. It was part of the last leg of the shoot and was shot in Mumbai because Deepika was pregnant by then. Ranveer came on set wearing an orange ensemble from top to bottom – tee, pants, and shoes! He radiates such an infectious positive energy – he just can't stand in one place! There was a lot of physical tussle in the scene, so I told Ranveer, 'Don't worry, for more physically challenging scenes, there's a body double.' He was so polite and humble. He smiled and said, 'I know, Dada.'"
