Anambra State Govt To Embark On Monitoring Of Filling Stations, Warns Against Sharp Practices

The Anambra State Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced its readiness to embark on an aggressive monitoring of filling stations across the state, with a view to apprehend those that tampered with their meters.

The Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya, who announced this to the press in Awka, warned the perpetrators to desist forthwith or face the full weight of the law and called on those selling adulterated fuel as well as above the pump price to retrace their steps.

Worried about the uncountable complaints that are being lodged in his office on daily basis by inhabitants of the state on the two criminal acts, Commissioner Ifeanya, who described the acts as cheating and inhumane, especially in this hard time, declared that it is unacceptable to the state government.

While listing the dangers of adulterated Petroleum products to include higher emissions of dangerous gas, air pollution and inferno, which according to him, could lead to loss of lives and property, Barrister Ifeanya frowned at the get rich quick syndrome of some people even when it involves colossal loss of life and economic waste.
