Senate calls for urgent intervention for flood victims across nation

The Nigerian Senate has urged the Federal Government to make urgent provisions for victims of flood in affected communities in Nigeria.

The Resolution is the outcome of a motion moved by the Abia North Senator, Uzor Kalu on the urgent need to respond to flood cases in some communities in Abia State

Senator Uzor Kalu raised concerns over the devastation caused by flooding in his region.

The lawmaker is worried that victims affected by these disasters are still in distress and are yet to get relief.

Other lawmakers in their contributions called for the urgent intervention of Government especially in other affected communities across the country.

The Senate also observed a minute of silence in honour of lives lost to flood disasters across the country.
