The protesters, who were marching through the streets of Wuse 2, carried placards highlighting the severe hunger and hardship they attribute to the policies of President Bola Tinubu’ s administration.
Senator Sani shared his experience on social media, describing the encounter in a detailed post. As he approached the group, some of the protesters recognized him. ” I just passed a group of protesters in Wuse 2, carrying placards against ‘ hunger in the land’ , ” Sani wrote.
” Some ladies among them recognized me and shouted, ‘ No be that Afro Senator be that. ‘ I answered, ‘ Yes, na me the former Senator, ‘ then they responded, ‘ Oya pass. Make Akpabio no pass there o’ ” , he added.

The reference to Godswill Akpabio, the current Senate President, highlights the protesters’ dissatisfaction with the country’ s leadership. The demonstrators were clear in their demand that Akpabio should not be allowed to pass through that road.
The protest in Abuja reflects growing unrest among Nigerians who are struggling with economic difficulties. President Bola Tinubu’ s government has been criticized for its handling of the economy, with many citizens facing increasing prices for basic goods and services.
