Nigerian singer and politician, Olubankole Wellington, professionally addressed as Banky W, has commenced a Master’s degree progamme in the United States.
He returned to school following his defeat in the House of Representatives election of 2023 which he contested under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Banky W, who wanted to represet Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, lost to Thaddeus Attah, the candidate of the Labour Party, LP.
He said he gave up his role as the Chief Executive Officer of Empire Mates Entertainment, EME, to focus on his academics, and also appealed to supporters to wish him well.
Taking to his Instagram page to inform fans about his recent plans, the music executive said he is now pursuing a MSc in policy at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Banky wrote; “Gave up being a CEO to become a student because sometimes you have to let go of what is impressive to gain what is important.
“I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Policy at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The journey of faith continues. Please wish me well.”
