Burna Boy takes full credit for the songwriting on his projects

Burna Boy recently took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in his trademark bold style, to emphasize his unique approach to music creation.

“Any name you see credited on my songs are only producers of the songs or Featured artists NOT writers. But for some reason, the western world considers producers as writers of the instrumentals and they just throw their names on there as writers. Nobody fit write for Odogwu.”

The release of “Higher” was just days before the superstar’s highly anticipated 2024 London stadium concert, where he made history by becoming the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity venue twice.
