Serie A newly promoted club Como are pushing to sign French defender Raphael Varane.

This is according to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Giving the latest report on the Varane’s possible move to Como, Romano revealed that negotiations continue between the club Varane over free transfer.

Few days back Romano dislcosed that Varane had travelled to Italy to hold transfer talks with Como after parting ways with Manchester United.

After a decade-long stint at Real Madrid where he won almost every trophy available, Varane joined United in the summer of 2021 in search of a new challenge.

Unfortunately, the move to the Red Devils didn’t really go according to plan as he struggled with injuries throughout and could only feature in 95 matches over the last three years.

With the 31-year-old struggling to stay fit, the Red Devils decided against renewing his contract at the club.

The Manchester-based club have already confirmed his departure and the player is now on the lookout for his next destination.
