The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has launched a global learning management system integrated with Microsoft Teams, the NiMet e-learning platform.

Professor Charles Anosike said, “The NiMet e-learning platform will enhance global opportunities and collaboration with other organizations.” The platform aims to significantly boost capacity building among staff, enhancing online interactive learning at training arms. The integration of Microsoft Teams with the LMS will offer our staff a seamless, robust platform for collaborative training. Training institutes will also benefit from this integration, which will streamline and enhance their training and development programs.

Continuing, Professor Anosike said that the strategic move aligns with management’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

The LMS will revolutionize our training programs and set a new standard for online learning within the agency. It will extend its benefits to the public interested in gaining knowledge about NiMet’s products and services. This move is also in line with the performance bond the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, signed with Aviation Agencies’ Heads and their Directors in February 2024. Professor Anosike concluded that developing human capacity is a key deliverable in the performance bond.
