FAAN Scores 96.2% On FG’s Ease- Of-Doing-Business Reforms
LAGOS – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has scored 96.2 per cent in the just concluded 120-day Regulatory Reform Accelerator (RRA) by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) on the ease-of-doing-business reforms.
The agency was among the agencies tagged ‘successful’ by RRA, an agency, which specialised on the rating of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the category of ease-of-doing-business scorecard by the Federal Government.
A statement by FAAN, said that the agency’s performance was announced in Abuja, recently in an event organised by Sen. Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria.
The statement hinted that in the past, FAAN scored third from bottom in the ease-of-doing-business ratings.
It, however, said that with the sheer determination of the current FAAN Management, led by Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, its Managing Director, the agency moved from a performance of zero score to 96.2 per cent, becoming one of the topmost agencies.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Henry Agbebire, Director, Special Duties, FAAN, who oversees PEBEC for the agency, explained that the management took onboard all the significant reform initiatives of the council.
Agbebire pointed out that in alignment with its strategic goals, FAAN would continue to build on improving the quality of the nation’s airport infrastructure and passengers’ experience.
He added: “FAAN is not only committed to sustaining the reforms implemented, but also to meeting up the outstanding 3.8 per cent to make it 100 per cent as PEBEC is set for the next phase of the 120-day RRA, which would be predominantly based on third party validation.”
