New Singida Big Stars coach Patrick Aussems hopes to help the club compete with the Dar Es Salaam giants in the future.

The well-travelled Belgian tactician, who was unveiled as Stars’ new coach this week, is looking forward to leading his new team in the upcoming Kagame Cup in Zanzibar.

“I am delighted to return to Tanzania, this time as the head coach of Singida. I was impressed by the club’s vision, which played a pivotal role in my decision to join them,” Aussems, who coached Simba SC in 2018-19, is quoted by Tanzania’s Daily News.

Big Stars have the ambition of competing with the likes of Simba, Young Africans and Azam FC – something which attracted Aussems to the club.

“The management and staff here share a strong vision for growth and I am determined to ensure that Singida competes alongside giants like Simba, Yanga and Azam. Our aim is for the club to make a significant impact next season,” he affirmed.

Singida finished 11th in the 2023-24 Tanzanian Premier League season – just two positions and one point above the relegation playoff zone.
