According to a report by Spanish outlet AS, Manchester United and West Ham United are keen on signing Sergio Reguilon in the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old has no future at Tottenham after his two loan spells in the 2023/24 season. And the two Premier League clubs have expressed their interest in the full-back.

Sergio Reguilon and his Tottenham travails

Sergio Reguilon has seen his progress come to a stuttering halt since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid in September 2020. The Spaniard could not reproduce his exploits from his stint with Sevilla after moving to England and gradually fell in the pecking order at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 27-year-old has spent the last 24 months away from Tottenham, with Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, and Brentford signing him on loan. Reguilon managed 655 minutes across 12 outings for Manchester United, while Brentford handed him more game time in the second half of the 2023/24 season, as he chipped in with four assists in 16 appearances for the Bees.

The Spanish full-back has no future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium heading into the summer transfer window. However, Reguilon does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Manchester United and West Ham United expressing their interest in him.

Extended Premier League stay on the horizon?

Manchester United’s interest in Sergio Reguilon is surprising yet understandable. The Red Devils have been scouring the market for a left-back in the summer transfer window after Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia barely featured for them in the 2023/24 season. As for West Ham, they are also keen on signing a left-back in the summer transfer window. Aaron Cresswell is in the twilight of his career, while Emerson Palmieri faces an uncertain future at the London Stadium. So, Reguilon has emerged as a viable target for West Ham.
