Renowned Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie recently opened up about a heartfelt mother-daughter dialogue with her little girl concerning the topic of bill sharing with her esteemed husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, a prominent lawmaker.

In the latest episode of her kitchen talk show, ‘Mercy’s Menu’, a mother of four revealed details of her discussion with her daughter to her guest, Queen Silekunola Naomi, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, about the topic of sharing bills in marriages.

Mercy Johnson, in viral video, mentioned that her daughter expressed the view that it’s crucial for couples, including herself and her husband, to divide expenses and bills in marriages. Intrigued by this perspective, Mercy Johnson, asked Queen Naomi to share her perspective on the matter.

Queen Naomi shared her take, affirming that there is no issue with a wife contributing to household expenses. She explained that such involvement can promote financial independence for the wife.

According  to her, it is acceptable for a wife to manage her husband’s finances, citing her own experience with the Ooni of Ife, the father of her son, as an illustration of this dynamic.

Then Queen Naomi had on December 23, 2021 announced her separation from the monarch in an Instagram post and ended the three-year union that produced a son, Tadenikawo.

Despite the monarch marrying six wives in quick succession in October 2022, some still believe that having birthed his heir, there is a chance they would reunite.
