NIMFEST returns to King Park

The New England Music Organization has announced the 2024 Friends of the Waterfront Concert Series, which will return to King Park in Newport, Rhode Island.

The four-part series, starting on June 28, features some of Newport’s best local talent and popular artists from around the world. The concerts will be held against the backdrop of the harbor, Goat Island, and the Newport Bridge.

The 2024 Friends of the Waterfront Concert Series schedule is:

Friday, June 28, 5-7 p.m. James Montgomery All-Star Blues Band; Friday, July 12, 5-7 p.m. Alan Bernstein Jazz Quartet; Friday, July 19, 5-7 p.m. La Méthode et Le Connard French Lounge & Swing; Friday, August 9, 5-7 p.m. Chase Ceglie Indie Jazz Pop; and Saturday, August 31, 4-6 p.m. Kevin Doyle’s Roscommon Soles Irish Dance. Tickets are free, but parking is limited. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. All concerts are weather permitting with no scheduled rain dates.

In addition to the 2024 Friends of the Waterfront Concert Series, the Annual NIMFest Concert Series will also be held at King Park, starting on Sunday, July 7. The NIMFest series will take place at the Gazebo on Wellington Avenue and will feature a variety of local talent, including Chelley Knight and The Dope Things, Chase Ceglie Trio, Los Duderinos, Bill Bartholomew, Dan Burke and The Royal Treatment, The Van Pelt Duo, Barfly, Nate Cozzolino, John McKenna, Bill Killian, The 40, Mark T. Small, The Firehouse Band, The NEE Jam, Hush Club, and Contrafact. All concerts will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, and are free and open to the public of all ages.
