While it concluded with the revealing of Lady Whistledown and the much-anticipated marriage of Colin and Penelope, the captivating duo, Kanthony, remained in the spotlight. Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) — now Lady Kate Bridgerton — and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), reigned over the Bridgerton household with undeniable charisma. Their on-screen chemistry, so palpable and genuine, had audiences swooning, despite their fictional origins. 

What truly resonated with many in the ton, including this author, was the portrayal of their relationship dynamics, a departure from the norms that often dominate South Asian cultures. In traditional context, it’s typically the woman who sacrifices her home and identity upon marriage. However, “Bridgerton” defied these expectations. In an intimate conversation, Anthony expresses his desire for Kate to give birth in India, citing the importance of their child knowing their maternal heritage. This reversal, where Anthony embraces and honors Kate’s background, stood out as a refreshing and progressive narrative twist.
