Arsenal are hoping to sign a number of new players this summer but it looks like one top target is not overly keen on making the move.

Mikel Arteta’s priority this summer is to make a few new signings to strengthen the pack as he looks to finally usurp Manchester City in the title race.

For Arsenal, that means looking at key positions.

In defence, it looks like Riccardo Calafiori is going to be a top target for the club. Arsenal are believed to be closing in on a deal for the Italian, who impressed in the Euros.

A new midfielder is also wanted, with the likes of Martin Zubimendi among the names continually being mentioned.

However, it is up top where Arsenal fans want to see a new face arrive. But according to reports, one top target in that area is ready to snub Arsenal interest and sign for Manchester United instead.

Joshua Zirkzee will reject Arsenal to sign for Manchester United

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Zirkzee is a man in-demand, with Arsenal, Man United and AC Milan all keen on signing him.

However, while Arsenal’s interest is there, it’s claimed that United are more advanced in terms of getting the deal done.

Indeed, it’s claimed that Zirkzee himself is prepared to shun any approach from Arsenal in the hope of getting a deal with United over the line.

The Dutch striker can leave Bologna for around £34m as Europe’s best look to dissect the Italian side after their fine season last term.

The ‘world-class’ Zirkzee was once again key for the Serie A side as he scored 13 goals and provided another 13 assists.

Quite whether Arsenal will push to sign him remains to be seen.

The Gunners are happy enough with Kai Havertz as their main striker right now and given how Zirkzee plays, Arsenal may well go for someone who is more of a number nine in the end.
