Perrie Edwards has revealed Little Mix were close to getting back together following their split in 2022.

The singer, 30, admitted she and her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 32, and Jade Thirlwall, 31, started to have regret about their decision. Little Mix formed on X Factor in 2011 and won the singing competition. They went on to have a huge pop career, yet Jessy Nelson decided to sensationally quit the band in 2020.

Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade announced they were stepping away from the group following their 2022 tour so they could "recharge and work on some other projects". However, Perrie has now revealed the band were "bored out of our minds" with all the free time they had after 10 years of the band.

Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett OBE on their Dish from Waitrose podcast, Perrie said: "I remember we sat at home and we were in a WhatsApp group and we were like, I'm bored. What are you up to today? And Leigh-Anne would be like, 'I'm actually sick of this.' And Jade's like, 'Yeah, why did we push for this again?'

"And I'm like, 'We've done it now, we have to see it through.' Cause we were like, should we go back? Like, should we just, it was so weird. It was like, that was abnormal to us." She added: "We were bored out of our minds, it was horrendous and now I love doing nothing. Like I'm really good at it. So I don't think I'd like struggle that much. I love working and I love also not working. So I think it's a good balance."

Last month, Perrie dropped a hint that she's written a track about her former Little Mix bandmate and friend Jesy for her debut solo album. The mum-of-one also admitted that she can't listen to the lyrics without crying, which had led to much speculation that the track is about her epic fallout with former bandmate, Jesy, 33.

Jesy famously announced that she was leaving Little Mix in December 2020, much to the shock and dismay of the girl-band's loyal fans. The singer alluded to a fued when she released her statement, with her fellow band members all being left shocked by Jesy's decision to sensationally quit after almost a decade. It has been claimed Jesy hasn't spoke to her former band mates since.

Speaking on The Zach Sang Show, Perrie said she wrote a song that is very close to her heart. While she did not name Jesy, Perrie said that the person in question was a huge part of her life and that she still misses their bond. She explained: "There’s a friendship that I no longer have. I wrote a song about that. That song - I can’t even listen to it without crying. It is about them and how we didn’t see eye-to-eye. It’s a really sad song. We don’t talk anymore. They were a big part of my life so it’s sad how it all ended up."
